In cooperation with the Osceola Council on Aging and UF/IFAS Osceola County Extension Services and funded with a United Way Impact Grant, Community Vision oversees the Osceola Work Ready Initiative. Chronic disease participants are screened and treated by the Council on Aging in their medical clinic, so they can become employed. They then join others to go through a “Back on Track” boot camp and interest assessment. Every effort is made to find them satisfying employment. Lastly, participants learn how to set financial goals and budget as a family. This collaboration seeks to attack obstacles to success; targeting the long-term unemployed with few prospects. Partnerships are forged with local businesses willing to give someone a second chance. Your support provides for boot camp supplies, training materials, and an employment specialist connecting long term unemployed back into the work force.
